Concepts
The words used across the site, the checkout, and your account.
Chip and config
A chip is the family: M5 Ultra, M3 Ultra, or M4 Max. A config is one memory size of that chip, with its SSD, CPU cores, GPU cores, hourly rate, and monthly rate. You always book a config.
Booking
A booking reserves one or more machines of the same config for a term. Each booking gets a reference such as MS-732C33. That reference is on the success page and in every email about the booking.
Term
- Hourly terms run from the start time for the number of hours you choose, up to 720.
- Monthly terms run for one to 24 months at the flat monthly rate.
Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | The booking is created and the test charge has not finished. |
| Test charge | The test payment was captured. |
| Refunded | The test payment was refunded. This is the normal end of checkout. |
| Confirmed | A Mac is assigned. Add your SSH key and connect. |
| Cancelled | The booking will not run. |
Access
A free Mac of your size is assigned the moment you pay. Each Mac fetches the SSH keys from your account about once a minute, so keys you add or remove take effect within a minute, and access closes by itself when the term ends. If no Mac of that size is free, the booking waits and an operator racks one.
